Can Dogs Eat Cantaloupe / Melon?

SafeSeedless, Small Pieces

Yes. Cantaloupe and most melon flesh is safe for dogs in moderation and is mostly water and fibre.

Why

Melon flesh carries no toxicity concern. As with watermelon, the seeds and tough rind are the practical risks — they're harder to digest and the rind especially can contribute to a blockage if swallowed in larger pieces.

Serving tips

  • Remove seeds and rind
  • Cut into manageable chunks appropriate to your dog's size
  • High natural sugar content means moderation still matters for diabetic or overweight dogs
