Can Dogs Eat Strawberries?

SafeGood Treat

Yes. Strawberries are safe for dogs and contain fibre, vitamin C, and antioxidants.

Why

Strawberries carry no known toxicity risk for dogs. They do contain natural sugar, so portion control matters, and the green leafy cap should be removed as it can be a mild choking hazard for small dogs.

Serving tips

  • Remove the green stem/cap before serving
  • Slice or mash for small dogs and puppies
  • A few strawberries at a time is plenty — they're not a meal substitute
  • Avoid strawberries in syrup, jam, or with added sugar
